<INTRODUCTION>
The Asian Tour is the official regional sanctioning body for professional golf in Asia. The mission of the Asian Tour is to expand tournament golf so as to substantially enhance the careers of its members, thereby developing and growing golf in Asia while maintaining a commitment to the integrity of the game.
The Asian Tour, through its membership of the International Federation of PGA Tours, is the only recognised pan-Asian professional golf tour in Asia. This unique feature positions the Asian Tour at the pinnacle of professional golf in Asia; providing its events with Official World Ranking status.

<HISTORY OF THE ASIAN TOUR>
In January 2004, the tournament playing professionals of Asia formed a new player representative body named the Asian Tour to ensure control over their careers and the development of professional tournament golf in Asia.
2004 SEASON
The Asian Tour staged a total of 22 tournaments offering prize money of US$12.3 million in its inaugural season as a new organisation. Vietnam was added to the growing list of countries to stage a professional golf tournament.
2005 SEASON
The Asian Tour staged a total of 27 tournaments with over US$20 million in total prize money. Thailand's Thaworn Wiratchant, the 2005 Order of Merit winner, set a new record for wins in a single season with four titles. The Tour also visited new events in Qatar, Brunei, Indonesia and Thailand to reinforce the growth of professional golf across Asia.
2006 SEASON
The 2006 season boasted record prize money of over US$24 million from the staging of 27 tournaments. India's Jeev Milkha Singh, the 2006 Order of Merit winner, established a new record for prize money won in a single season, winning US$591,884. The Tour welcomed new tournaments in Pakistan, India and Malaysia.
2007 SEASON
In 2007, a record schedule of 28 tournaments offering an all-time high of over US$27 million in prize money was offered to the players. Liang Wen-chong became the first player from China to win the Order of Merit as the Tour heralded new events in Cambodia and Vietnam. The Tour, which was made up of players from no fewer than 25 different nationalities, visited 16 different countries and territories in 2007.
2008 Season
The growth of professional golf reached new heights in 2008. An unprecedented 30 events which offered a record US$39 million were staged across 17 countries and territories while India’s Jeev Milkha Singh become the Tour’s first million-dollar man in a single season when he earned over US$1.4 million to win the Order of Merit title for the second time in three years.of 30 events with nearly US$40 million in total prize money is expected to be on offer in the 2008 Asian Tour season.
2009 Season
The Asian Tour sanctioned 28 events worth almost US$38 million in 2009. Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee became the first man in Asian golf history to win three Order of Merit crowns while Korea’s Yang Yong-eun created history by becoming the first Asian to win a Major. Yang and India’s Jeev Milkha Singh were afforded honorary memberships on the Asian Tour for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the game of golf in Asia and across the globe.

About:
The National Turfgrass Federation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, was formed in 1991 as the parent organization of the National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP). Now it is time for a new organization; an entity to coordinate the activities of the National Turfgrass Research Initiative (NTRI). This new organization is being formed, while applying for 501 (c) 6 non-profit status, which allows for significant lobbying activities. The new organization will be named National Turfgrass Federation. The current organization will be renamed National Turfgrass Evaluation Program, Inc., and will coordinate only the activities of NTEP while retaining its 501 (c) 3 status.
The new National Turfgrass Federation is currently working on its structure and governance. A de facto Board of Directors has met twice in Washington, DC and meets regularly via conference call to discuss the organization’s future direction, goals, by-laws, etc. This Board of Directors has also provided guidance on and support of NTRI research activities, lobbying, fund raising, etc., while participating in discussions of NTRI with Congressional staff, USDA officials and White House administration.
At its last meeting, the Board of Directors approved the following:
Mission Statement: Promote the need for turfgrass research and its associated value to society
Strategy to accomplish its mission:
Cooperate and partner with the appropriate divisions of federal, state and local governments to promote the turfgrass industry and its interests and to engage appropriate divisions of federal, state and local governments in (1) meaningful dialog regarding the goals and needs of the turfgrass industry, (2) legislative and regulatory initiatives that benefit the turfgrass industry, and (3) the importance of funding for and implementation of the National Turfgrass Research Initiative.

Following many years of discussion, OneAsia was launched to provide this consolidated pathway for the region's best golfers. Five events were scheduled for the inaugural year in 2009, conducted in China, Korea and Australia. The first OneAsia tournament teed off in April of 2009 at the Volvo China Open, where victory went to Australian player Scott Strange.
Today - after just one year - The OneAsia tournament schedule has grown to a robust 11 events, all offering a minimum US$1 million in prize money. Of these 11 events, 10 remain full field OneAsia tournaments purely for the leading golfers across the region. OneAsia remains absolutely committed to further growth, the long-term goal of which will be to allow the best golfers in the world to make a professional career - and a home - out of Asia.

The British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association was formally created on January 1, 1987 from an amalgamation of the British Golf Greenkeepers Association, The English and International Golf Greenkeepers Association and The Scottish and International Golf Greenkeepers Association, forming a membership of 1,200.
Today BIGGA boasts over 6,000 members including Golf Greenkeepers but also Associate Members and Student Members. In June 2009 the Association was opened up to allow full membership to all sports turf professionals.
In October 1998, BIGGA was proud to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of York officially to open BIGGA HOUSE, the Association's new headquarters. Housing 14 members of staff - there are also four Regional Officers operating out in the field - and with a state-of-the-art training room, the Association has the facilities to enhance further its services to its members and the greenkeeping profession.
